Tomorrow afternoon I am off to Oshawa for my first ever Canadian Synchronized Skating Championships!
I haven't slept for two nights. I'm so scared.
I'm so scared now, that I'm scared that I won't even be able to tie my skates! Let alone skate the program!
But no worries. I am also excited. I have skated this program countless times in the last six months, I know it. At our last practice, I did some of my best skating yet. I am ready. My team is ready. Besides, it's all just for fun!
If you near the Centre of the Universe and want to come and watch, Thursday and Friday afternoons at the GM Centre in Oshawa!
No time! I have lots of great things to write about, but no time to write! Such is my blogging trend. I can type about nothing when I have time and nothing is going on, but when there are good things going on, no time to write.
Point form:
- Boyfriend of SIX MONTHS! is amazing.
- Going to Canadians with skating.
- Going on a big trip this summer.
- Roommate is leaving. I'm not really investigating the possibility of a new roommate, but if you have a recommendation, I might be willing.
- I miss my parents. They are quite well, but I haven't seen them and barely talk to them.
- School is good. Yay!
Bless you readers who continue to check :)
I should have posted on Friday night. Alas, I had better things to do on Friday night. But I thought about it! On Friday night, I had my personal best skating performance. Of my life. Of what I assume to be 28 years of skating and 13 years of lessons, it was the very best. I was focused and happy! Happy is the theme of this year's program, so happy is good.
It was amazing to compete at home. I think I personally knew most of the people in the audience. Between passing out tickets to school children and Jason inviting his entire family, I did know most of the audience that was left, that late at night. Due to technical difficulties and being the last team to skate, it was nearly 10:00pm before our team skated. Knowing people in the audience, as well as knowing the ice very well, gave me extra reason to smile!
We were so excited when we got off the ice, we had yet to skate our program as well as we did. It wasn't perfect, but it was good. And our marks! We had never heard marks so high! High enough to be in fourth place! And performance marks that made our coach cry!
I should have posted Friday because this post just is not conveying the excitement I felt. It was truly amazing, worth all the freezing Mondays and every penny I spend to do this. It was even worth the stabbing pain of the fake eyelashes.
