Life is so good that I don't need to blog about it apparently!
So, since my body was diseased, a few things have happened:
- I got better.
- We did some fun things at school. (big bike trip, swimming, dance lesson, dance club performance, staff parties, etc.) Each of those things could get it's own post, but it won't.
- Jason moved in for the summer!
- My cousin had a wedding celebration.
- I hung out at the lake.
This is what I have to do today:
- Go for a run
- Do laundry
- Return books
- Buy jewelry
- Wash my car
- Wash the floor
- Clean my room
- Pack
- Go to FRANCE!!!!
No time! I have lots of great things to write about, but no time to write! Such is my blogging trend. I can type about nothing when I have time and nothing is going on, but when there are good things going on, no time to write.
Point form:
- Boyfriend of SIX MONTHS! is amazing.
- Going to Canadians with skating.
- Going on a big trip this summer.
- Roommate is leaving. I'm not really investigating the possibility of a new roommate, but if you have a recommendation, I might be willing.
- I miss my parents. They are quite well, but I haven't seen them and barely talk to them.
- School is good. Yay!
Bless you readers who continue to check :)
So I have finally discovered the nickname for man#3. It is Jason. Why Jason? Because that seems to be one of the most common names for les garçons born in North America in the seventies. And he was a garçon born in North America in the seventies with an extremely common name.
I could just call him my boyfriend. Or bf. Cause that's what he is!
He's also awesome. He is so nice and sweet that it blows my mind.
Because he lives in the ecological centre of the province, we can't see each other all the time. This is fine, because we are both very busy individuals and even if we lived in the same school disctrict, we wouldn't have the time anyway. But I bet it would be a little more often. Anyway, upon arriving home last night I texted him. Brilliant move! Because he was just leaving his mom's after having Thanksgiving and was therefore in the City! So he came to visit me. It was such a great surprise.
Apart from the surprise visit, this was my weekend:
Hours spent in the car: 17.5
Hours spent driving: 1
Hours away from home: 74
Hourse spent sleeping away from home: 32
Hourse spent cooking: 0
Thanksgiving meals eaten: 2
Pieces of pie consumed: 2
Excercise: nada
Books read: 1 and some
Duotangs marked by me: a few
Duotangs marked by my mom: a lot
Squabbles with the Sibs: 0
Hours holding a baby: 2
Hours that that baby slept: 2
Numbers of Ula-loops that I now have: 5 (all for sale my friends)
Basically, I had an AMAZING weekend. I have so much to be thankful for.
I hope that Summer 2008 will be remembered as the busiest of my life. Because I do not wish to repeat the business aspect of it again. As of now, I am zen. Sure, sure. Fine. I'm going to read a book about being zen. But If I get a class list of 30 kids tomorrow, zen goes out the window.
Recap of the beautiful moments of summer 2008:
- July long with the family at the lake. Very chill. Read the first book for my class before the class ever started. First time ever that I have done something ahead of time. It did not continue as a trend.
- Hung out loads with Fearless before she returned to France. I swear Fearless, I see you more in one month than I see many people in the other eleven. I hope we'll keep this up in 2011!
- Worked long long hours at the Institut Français. I met some fantastic people and spoke French for a month. I also road my bike to work at least 3 times a week which was awesome. It made me love living in this city. Aside from the stress and the messed up back, it was a good job.
- Trip to S'toon for a good party!
- Trip to Yorkton to visit my grandma.
- More trips to the lake.
- Realized that thanks to all the male attention, I just might be cute. Who knew? Summer 2008 was amazing for my ego.
- Relaxing trip to Ottawa where I was spoiled by Ben and enjoyed visits with many of my Ottawa peeps including the cutest baby ever!
- Scored another job at the Institute, this time as a tutor. It was easy. And enjoyable. As a bonus, it just covered all the parking tickets incurred at the university.
- Organizing my classroom.
- Wrote three essays and two exams to hopefully complete the requirements for degree number 2. The marks are not posted yet.
- Re-aquainted myself with my good friend and massage therapist re: the messed up neck.
- Met a lovely chiropractor. I'm so addicted to the crack because it works.
- Had a lovely date with a cute nice boy! And plan for at least one more ! I hope my charm can hold out.
- Drove to Alberta (Calgary and Red Deer) for one last adventure of shopping and visiting with my Alberta bound family. Ah, the riches of Alberta.
I finished my last final exam! Thank you for the applause. I hear it, I really do. I got the mark for my final essay - 80%, I'm quite pleased. Much improvement was made from the beginning.
I can't say that I have my degree, as it's not yet a done deal, but I'm fairly certain. I'm happy that I worked so hard over the past year to get it done.
So for me summer vacation, I'm Alberta bound to see the siblings and do a little shopping. Stop by and water my plants please. Thanks!
It wasn't really for Parliament that I went to Ottawa. It was really to see my friends and hang out. Unfortunately, I don't have photos of all of my friends. But I do of some of them!
Here is Ben: He is posing in the woods where we went for a nature
walk. This photo will surely be coming to a facebook page (likely his)
soon. The photo of me will not likely be on facebook. Ben let me stay at his house while I toured the National Capital region. He was also responsible for my nourishment. Ben is a fantastic cook. Nutritious and delicious. We had a great time playing Wii, Raving Rabbits. Too funny! As well we went to see my friend Jennifer at Meech Lake. Yes, where they didn't sign the accord. It is beautiful! As is my friend Jennifer, but I don't have a picture of her.
I also hung out with my friend Valérie. She is a lot like me, just more. She speaks lots of languages and has travelled to lots of countries. I speak a couple of languages and have travelled to some countries. She just finished Law School, which is unlike me. I'm just as glad. Anyway, we hung out in the Market, an area of Ottawa just beside the Hill (Parliament Hill) that, amongst other things, has lots of restaurants. Another day her sister, who is a tour guide this summer, let us wander around Parliament at our leisure. We did exciting things like check out the new guide lounge! As well as all the places I posted in my earlier post. We also drove to Aylmer to go to the beach. Sunny on the way there, sunny on the way back, rain at the beach. It was great to see her again; we hung out a lot when we both lived in Mtl and hadn't seen one another in over two years! It sure didn't seem like it. This lovely photo definitely makes me notice our difference in height. I guess that is where I am more!
The East Bloc is part of the original Parliament Buildings. Centre Bloc burnt to the ground in 1917, except for the library which was saved ever so gloriously but shutting the metal doors. This view of East Bloc shows the temper-mental weather of the capital city. These clouds led to rain. At about the same time that we found the beach.
This is the lovely bibliothèque du Parliament. This was the first time I had seen the Library which had undergone a major restoration. Infact, the Guides of 2001 were the last to give tours of the former Library. The statue is Queen Victoria, for whom my lovely city is named. She was the Queen when Canada became a country and while a lot of stuff in cities was being built, hence a lot of stuff is called Victoria.
This is the ceiling of a hall in Parliament. I cannot remember what the name of the hall is, but many a group of tourists hears a lot of babble while the guide is waiting for a long winded library guide who talks about Birds of America, the most expensive book in the library, to get his or her group out. Anyway, I talked about the fine example of Gothic architecture and the fact that in this hall Pierre Trudeau a été mis en exposition. He was on display. I remember I had to practice saying that and I said it really clearly. So I remember a lot, just not the name of the hall.
Or a brief summary of my week.

December 31 marks the end of the official holidays. Apart from figuring out what the heck I should ask Santa for Christmas, I pretty much loved the holidays. Most of my cards were sent on time, I mean except for the overseas one that is still on my satchel. That's not so good. Oh well, such is life.
As I have mentioned a million times, I loved being a part of the Christmas concert, in spite of what it did to me physically. Just exhaustion which is a normal part of who I am. I went to 3 Christmas parties which were fantastic. I decorated. Without any pressure ! I sort of want to leave my house decorated for a while but think that maybe tomorrow I should take it apart. Nah. I guess I should in the next week though, if not it will not be done until after Easter.
I was pretty stressed about Christmas itself because Turbo was here. I knew how I wanted things to work and I knew that there could be tension because he does not always want to do what I want to do. Shocking isn't it ? I know that he was missing his family and the big family get togethers that he loves. My family doesn't do big family get-togethers because we are too young and too old. And too spread out. My cousins are married and have their own families but me and my siblings are too young for that. (I know I just turned 29 and I'm not too young but please just let me say I'm too young, please ?) As well it was our first Christmas without my sister. Some will find this morbid. SHE IS ALIVE AND WELL AND LIVES IN ONTARIO. SHE HAD TO WORK. Sometimes my blog isn't clear. Sometimes my friends call me on my vagueness to make sure things are okay. I just didn't want this to be one of those times. I was very concerned that my parents would be sad and while I'm sure they were, they weren't sad all the time.
Since then, there has been much relaxing. For my birthday I relaxed and shopped a bit. More home decorating purchases such as a curtain rod and a new down-duvet. On my birthday I received a cheque for a years worth of prescriptions so that felt like money for nothing ! I had an awesome supper at my parents that my mom made especially for me. It was so good ! Drew was able to come and that was really nice. I got some nice lamps and a gift certificate to a spa.
The day after my birthday we had a party. I knew that pre-party we had to be cleaning machines which was a major factor in not having the party on my birthday. I didn't want to clean on my birthday ! Especially not alone because Turbo was at work and especially not like a maniac ! So we cleaned like maniacs on Saturday. I cleaned stupid things like the shower curtain and the bathroom ceiling. They needed to be done. However, there were more importanting things. I'm not good at prioritizing during a crunch. Chelle and her new man that has a name that would make one think that he could be from an exoctic place, but is really just from a small town, came to visit from Saskatoon. This was great, because I like when she visits. As well, I really like her new exotic boyfriend. Hey Chelle, do let me know if you find this insulting. I'm not trying to be insulting and I hope you don't take it that way. It was also great because Chelle made sure that I ate. When she arrived, I was just about to have a shower. Once again, poor planning on my part because she had called and said they would arrive soon. But I was soooo dirty ! She let me have a shower. I was all for her and her nbf going for lunch on their own and us continuing with the cleaning but she was all about us coming. Or at least me coming. In return, she made supper. That's right. Such a good friend that she drove from Saskatoon to make me supper. Love !
I was really worried that people wouldn't come. I'm always worried about that for parties. Not nearly everybody that I invited came. But that is expected for this time of the year. Remember when I wrote about Mike B and his stupid birthday ? He didn't come. But I don't care because I don't know him. My mix of friends is often ecclectic with people not really knowing one another but everybody seemed to get along. What I mean is that I had enough wine that I would have only noticed if people were fighting violently. Those that came, came from a distance. Chelle from Saskatoon, Fearless from France and another friend from Toronto. We'll have to have another party at the end of January when Turbo's friend from Montreal stops by.
Even though I didn't mention to alot of people that it was sort of a little bit for my birthday, I was mega spoiled. My friends must think that I'm smart or at least that I can read. Fearless went all out ! That night alone I received 4 books, all of them smart books. For the season I received 7 books and I already had 2 on the go. Whoa. I think I had better do some serious reading next week.
Yesterday I was recuperating with a smile. I was way too tired but I made it. We went shopping. I gave the worst directions ever to the nbf. Poor guy. I was all 'oops, you needed to turn right'. I exhanged a sweater. I received plenty of those as well - 5 ! Yippee !
In the evening I met with old friend from Youth Parliament. I loved youth parliament in my youth. It changed me. But 6 or 7 years later, I saw how much I had changed. They still laugh and joke about politics and procedure and I haven't really thought about those things since. I was never ever that knowledgeable, but I realized how far I have drifted. It was nice to see them and that some things don't change.
Tonight, I am obviously not at a swinging party. I just had a party so there is really no need.
Happy New Year ! Thanks for reading in 2007, for being great friends and encouraging me in my adventures.
